Braden Lons is a 15-year-old drifter from Oklahoma City, USA who has quickly made a name for himself through his early success in competitive drifting. Growing up around motorsport, he spent much of his childhood driving anything he could reach the pedals on, starting mostly with off-road vehicles before eventually discovering drifting through his dad.

One of the biggest highlights of his career so far was completing a perfect ProAm season, going undefeated across the entire championship while securing multiple top qualifying positions along the way.

For the 2026 season, Lons will compete in Formula Drift ProSpec in a 1990 Nissan S13 (240SX) chassis. The car is powered by a 2JZ engine and built as a full ProSpec-level competition car, featuring a GSR dog box transmission, Winters quick-change rear end and a Just Engineering front rack and angle kit. The car runs on Konig Wheels and produces around 850 horsepower.

The chassis itself carries a strong history within Formula Drift, having previously earned multiple Formula Drift licenses. Now it returns to the series with Lons as it makes its ProSpec debut.

Beyond the track, we love to learn a little more about the drivers themselves.

What is your favourite track or circuit to drive and why?

Sonoma Raceway during Winter Jam. It’s a fun layout and a place where I’ve had great experiences.

Any driving tips for beginners?

Get on a sim. It helped me build the foundation I have today and made a big difference in my driving.

What hobbies do you have outside of racing?

Most of my time is spent around drifting. If I’m not driving, I’m either on the sim or working on the car.

Dream street car?

Chevrolet Corvette C7 Z06. I think it’s one of the best looking cars out there.
