We are happy to announce the continued support of long time drifter, Levi Clarke from Queensland.
Levi doesn't need much of an introduction, he has been dominating the Australian Drift scene for years now! The famous LS3 Turbo powered S15 with the renowned Exedy livery is easily recognisable anywhere you go.
At 34 years old, Levi has been drifting for over 13 years now and has made his mark in the Australian drift world! His S15 is powered by a LS3 with an almighty snail hanging off the side. Pushing 850+ horses down to the treads and an exhaust out the bonnet, you can hear (and see at night) this thing coming a mile away!
The best of the best parts are found throughout Levi's car, GKtech steering and suspension components, shockworks coilovers, a straight cut short ratio Hollinger gearbox (with none other than an Exedy twin plate of course) and a winters quick change diff, Levi's driveline is as tough as nails and easily adaptable to any track he wants to take on.
With his aggressive driving style and years of experience and incredibly gripped up S15, Levi is always a top competitor at any event.
Levi finds an awesome work/life/drift balance, we still aren't sure how he manages to fit it all in! He runs his own successful sign writing business (we assume he took this trade up for the amount of time he spends on others doors wrecking his livery!) has a loving wife and an adorable young son! Levi was also faced with the tough challenge of a cancerous brain tumour last year, but we watched him fight his way through it, and to top it off he was back on track for Drift Masters within a week of finishing Chemo Therapy. He even took out the win!
Hardtuned is proud to be supporting him on this journey, and we look forward to seeing him push the limits and bring out a new unique not Drift rod build!
Here at Hardtuned, we love to get to know our athletes on a personal level - so we thought we would dive a little deeper and find out some interesting facts about Levi!
How / What made you get into motorsport?
I have always followed motorsport with my Dad. I had a friend that was heavily into drifting so I used to help out in the pits when I could. It wasn't long until I got the bug and attended the first open track day I could, the rest is a blur – 13 year on and we still have the bug!
What was your first race car?
My first drift car was an RB20 R32! Some great times in that car.
What is your favourite Circuit?
Calder Park in Victoria is a favourite for me, the banks and inclines are unique and so fun to drive.
Is there any drivers you look up to (and why)?
There are a heap of drivers I look up to, Shane Van Gisbergen is always dominating the V8's or drift track, and Mad Mike's videos were the first I came across and he is always pushing the limits for the crowd!
Most memorable Battle?
Drift Masters with Josh B, always going to be a good show when we are lined up in the battle tree!
What have been the highlights of your career?
Formula Drift 2015 and traveling to Japan and NZ (would love to do more if the opportunity arises)
Favourite Driving Technique?
Straight aggression! I love putting other drivers under the pump and forcing mistakes.
Hobbies outside of racing?
Fishing and golf are 2 favourites. But, I am always building something, I just can't sit still. We currently have our LS powered Drift Rod in the works which has been a project for a few years.
Favourite Food?
I am well known for smoking meats, so smoked meat has to be my favourite food.
Favourite Drink?
I do have a soft spot for cocktails, especially a Margarita!
Your Dream Street Car?
Believe it or not, would love a Silverado. Awesome tow vehicles.
Any Driving Tips you can give us?
When you're starting off, it’s all about keeping momentum, rhythm and flow. Start with something standard, no need to try for the big lines - just stay mid track and work from there! Practise makes perfect.
